Hannah Fairfield from the NY times showed how to visualize huge amounts of data and tell a story. sometimes You have to take the high risk of losing Your readers. Because they simply won´t understand. So it stands data density vs. clarity. She advised very passionately to take the risk and try and welcome failure once in a while. Most important: To grab the reader by the hand and lead him into and through the chart. So let´s chart it up ! (I like this quote)

Lukas Kircher gave us some insights in his company´s work and philosophies. Remarkable: He started as an infographic artist in Austria and experienced the “black sheep role” in the newsroom. Now he´s the boss of a huge communication company. And the infographic dominates. Hi joked about his ultimate goal: KILL TEXT! Besides, he did an experiment with text editors: They had to scribble their story before starting to write (he! he!) Here are some slides of his presentation with the title “the rabbit conspiracy”. Find out how he came upon this title :-)
